50th Anniversary Notable Alumni Feature Michael Willis, M.P.A: Michael grew up in West ǿմý and Sapulpa. As a senior at Sapulpa High School, he started Liberal Arts classes at ǿմý in 1997. He would go on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Public Affairs and Administration and master’s degree in Public Administration. “TCC was invaluable to my overall college career. The faculty were top-notch, and I found that my experience helped complement my university experience,” he said.

He has spent most of his career as a public servant working for the City of ǿմý as the ǿմý Mayor's Office as Director of Government Relations and ǿմý County Government as Public Information Officer and Chief Deputy County Commissioner. In 2016, he was elected as ǿմý County Clerk and has worked diligently to improve services and processes within his office.

Michael is very active in the community and frequently gives back to TCC students as a guest speaker for management and leadership development classes. In addition to volunteering his time as a Reserve Police Officer for the ǿմý Police Department, he is a graduate of Leadership ǿմý Class 34 and a member of the Rotary Club of ǿմý and ǿմý’s Young Professionals. He also serves on other boards including Rebuild Oklahoma, ǿմý Sports Commission, INCOG and Friends of the MET. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Office of Juvenile Affairs. He received a public service Paragon Award from Leadership ǿմý in 2018.

Michael and his wife, Marcie, live in ǿմý with their kids, Olivia and Mark. Michael is also an enrolled member of the Cherokee Nation.
