This is your chance to size up all the candidates in the race for Ðǿմ«Ã½ County Commissioner, District 3. The League of Women Voters of Metropolitan Ðǿմ«Ã½ and Ðǿմ«Ã½ are hosting a candidates’ forum 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at TCC’s Southeast Campus at 81st & Highway 169 in the Studio Theater.
The candidates vying for Ðǿմ«Ã½ County Commissioner, District 3—four Republicans and one Democrat—are expected to attend. This event is free and open to the public. Audience members will be able to submit written questions for the candidates.
The Republican primary is June 11 with candidates Don Crall, Brandon Perkins, Ron Peters, and John Wright on the ballot. The Republican winner will face Democrat John Bomar in the Aug. 13 special general election.
The special election was set because Ðǿմ«Ã½ County Commissioner Fred Perry will resign in July. The term expires December 31, 2014.
All Ðǿմ«Ã½ County residents are welcome to attend the Forum, but only voters in District 3 will vote in the special election. District 3 runs south through the center of Ðǿմ«Ã½ beginning about 31st and Lewis and covers the south part of the county including Broken Arrow, Jenks, Bixby and Glenpool.
The Forum, hosted by the League of Women Voters and Ðǿմ«Ã½, is co-sponsored by the Bixby Chamber of Commerce and the Glenpool Chamber of Commerce.
